ZAOZAO ZHANG (b.1998) is a Chinese-born interdisciplinary sculpture artist based in Brooklyn, NY.
Working from an East Asian queer feminist perspective, Zhang explores sculpture, installation, theater, video, and publication to challenge patriarchal narratives surrounding the female body. She co-founded The Wishing Fountain, a nonprofit queer library and self-publishing collective centering Southeast Asian LGBTQ+ voices. Rooted in poetic and mythological narratives, her practice seeks to decolonize the female body, channeling its primal energies into symbolic totems and reconstructing a liberated feminist narrative.
Zaozao designed the stickers and temporary tattoos for Upwomxn’s 2025 Pride merch.
